
John Christensen
Senior Assessment and Data Analytics Consultant
John is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Connecticut and an affiliate of UConn’s Institute for Collaboration on Health, Intervention, and Policy. He is also Co-Founder of Yellowbrick.me, a company that unlocks employees' potential, and unleashes organizational excellence.
John earned his Ph.D. in social psychology at the University of Southern California, where he was awarded a pre-doctoral fellowship from the American Psychological Association’s Minority Fellowship Program. He also completed a postdoctoral research and teaching fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania, as well as intramural training programs at the National Institutes of Health, the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, the Institute for Creative Technologies, and the RAND Corporation.
Having a “positive impact on society” is his overarching goal common to each of his scholarly and professional activities. His research has been published in academic journals such as Psychological Inquiry, Computers in Human Behavior, Social Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience, and Health Communication. John’s research and teaching interests focus on Health Communication, Communication Technology, and Research Methods and Statistics, with a focus on regression, multivariate analysis of variance, structural equation modeling, meta-analysis, and conditional process modeling.
John holds a personal belief that we should all be doing everything we can to make the world a better place for the next generation. He consistently applies this philosophy to his research, teaching, and public-engagement endeavors.
